14 day, 1, 3 or 6 month pass

• The Backtracker Rail pass offers flexability for travel on The XPT and Xplorer, CountryLink operated Rail Services.
• Passes are valid for travel from the first day of travel for either 14 days, 1, 3 or 6 months for consecutive travel in any direction.
• The Backtracker Rail Pass is available for travel in economy seating on CountryLink services throughout New South Wales, between Sydney and Melbourne, and Sydney and Brisbane.
• Use of the pass must begin within six months of the date of issue and be completed within the validity period from the first validity date.
• A travel "day" is a period of 24 hours, or less, from the scheduled departure time of a service. Eg, an overnight trip 2100/0900 is regarded as one "day"
• Travel on Sydney CityRail services is allowed in conjunction with a connecting CountryLink service.
• Travel is not available on Brisbane City Train services and Melbourne metropolitan service.
• The Backtracker Rail pass is only available to foreign passport holders. Clients should be advised to carry their passports with them at all times as railway staff may wish to check it against the passport numbers endorsed on the pass.

• Unused passes receive a full refund, but once the pass has been validated (first leg travelled) or lost, no refund is issued.
