Cruise aboard the new "SPIRIT of the
Murray" for a 426 kms one way cruise
from Renmark to Mildura (Upstream) or
reverse (Downstream). Also, includes a
38 kms visit along the Darling River.
Overnight bed and breakfast in
riverland hotels. Renmark, Loxton, Waikerie and Mannum all
have ensuite facilities.
Day 1:
Arrive Mildura by coach from
Renmark, enjoy a BBQ lunch before
boarding the Spirit of the Murray.
Cruise downstream through Lock 11, under
the Abbotsford Bridge and on to
Wentworth for Dinner, Bed and Breakfast.
Day 2:
Depart Wentworth cruise 38 kms
along the Darling River before stopping
at Tapio Cutting for lunch. Return down
the Darling River. Pass through Lock 10
enjoy the scenery at Bates, Shallow and
Jacksons Reach before stopping for at
Ana Branch Station. for coach transfer
and an Aboriginal Tour to Wentworth for
Dinner, Bed and Breakfast.
Day 3:
Depart Ana Branch Station view
Frenchmans Creek the entrance to Lake
Victoria, pass the old Steam Kulnine
pump, pass through Lock 9 before
stopping at Lock 8 for Lunch. Enjoy
spectacular scenery pass through Lock 7,
stopping at Rufus River. Enjoy a coach
tour of Lake Victoria the site of the
infamous Rufus River massacre before
returning to Wentworth for Dinner, Bed
and Breakfast.
Day 4:
Return by coach to the Rufus
river cruise past Murray Sunset National
Park, Pollards Cutting, Scotties Wood
Pile and view the ruins of Cal Lal
Police Station. View the Vic/SA Border,
pass through Lock 6 before stopping for
lunch at Chowilla Station. Cruise onto
to Wooknal Bend for a walk at the site
of a WWII Internment Camp. Enjoy the
scenery as you complete your journey
arriving at the Renmark Wharf.
