Day 1: Depart Winnipeg for Thompson this morning, onboard First Air. You will be met at the airport and transferred to the Heritage Museum for a guided visit. An Aboriginal Elder will demonstrate how the First Nations people prepare bannock. Following lunch at a local restaurant (not included), a guided tour of the Spirit Way Walk has been arranged. You will be transferred to the train station for departure late this afternoon. Via Rail’s Hudson Bay train departs for Churchill at 17:55. Day 2: Upon
arrival in Churchill this morning, you will
be met at the Via Rail station and taken on
a tour of the town and surrounding area.
Visit Cape Merry, the Port of Churchill, and
the famed Polar Bear Jail. A welcome
dinner has been arranged at the Churchill
Motel this evening, hosted by your
Naturalist Guide. (D) Day 3:
Embark on a full day program with your
Naturalist Guide. Travel the Hudson
Bay coastline in search of wildlife,
including the magnificent Polar Bear, and
visit the Goose Creek weir, a frequent home
to seals in the region. You may even
have the opportunity to see a sled dog team
in action! A lunch reservation will be made
for you in the town of Churchill (local
payment). (B) Day 4: Today
is free for you to explore Churchill on your
own. Visit the renowned Eskimo Museum,
shop for local souvenirs or book a
helicopter flight. Via Rail departs
Churchill for Thompson this evening.
You will be transferred to the train station
for departure. (B) Day 5:
Following a late morning arrival in
Thompson, you will then board First Air for
your return flight to Winnipeg.
Accommodation has been arranged for you at
the Four Points Sheraton Hotel located at
the Winnipeg Airport. Day 6: Your
tour concludes following check out from the
hotel.
