Tasiilaq is a community of approximately 1800 people. Coming to the area Ammassalik and the town of Tasillaq, you will enter the very heart of East Greenland's exceptional beauty and one of the most unspoiled arctic areas in the world. The awesome landscape has no parallel in the entire arctic. A mosaic of steep, dramatic mountains, countless lakes, streams and rivers, waterfalls, glaciers and green valleys. Angmagssalik radiates a purity, which has overwhelmed and fascinated visitors throughout time.
This tour is designed as a side-trip from Iceland, enabling you to spend as long as you want in Iceland before or after your visit to Greenland.
Day 1: Transfer on your own from your Reykjavik accommodation to the Reykjavik Domestic Airport for the short flight to Kulusuk, onward to Tasiilaq on a breathtaking, scenic helicopter flight. You will be met at the airport by a local representative and transferred to the Hotel Angmagssalik for a welcome meeting and check-in. The balance of the day is free for you to explore followed by dinner at the hotel.
Days 2: This remote community is one of Greenland's gems - small and quiet, surrounded by rugged and awesome scenry. Optional excursions are available for booking locally with your guide. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided at your hotel today.
Day 3: You will be transferred to the Tasiilaq heliport for your helicopter ride back to Kulusuk with an onward flight to Iceland, which departs early afternoon. You'll be back in Reykjavik in time for dinner. Transfer on your own to your downtown accommodation, to continue your holiday in Iceland.
