Falls, Ferries and the Far Eastern Shore

Day 1: Arrive in Toronto and transfer to your centrally located hotel for a three-night stay. This vibrant city boasts a spectacular skyline, a lively entertainment district and multicultural neighborhoods - each with a unique flavor. Shop the designer boutiques in Yorkville, indulge in dim sum in Chinatown or visit a traditional trattoria in Little Italy.

Day 2: Depart your hotel this morning on a full day trip to spectacular Niagara Falls. This world-renowned natural phenomenon is a must-see for any visitor to Canada! Board Maid of the Mist for a truly memorable journey, and feel the thundering water rushing over Horseshoe Falls at Table Rock House. Following a buffet lunch overlooking the falls, embark on a scenic drive along Niagara Parkway with photo opportunities of the floral clock and Brock’s Monument. An unforgettable day ends with a wine tasting in picturesque Niagara-on-the-Lake. Day 3: Join a two hour guided sightseeing tour of this diverse city, highlighting local attractions such as the iconic CN Tower, Queen’s Quay Terminal, and the scenic harbourfront. Following an exciting day, board a late afternoon train to Montreal. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel for check in.

Day 4: Discover Old Montreal on a guided walking tour this morning. Nestled between the St. Lawrence River and the downtown skyscrapers, this district features historic architecture, cobblestone streets and sidewalk cafes. Walk along the Old Port and photograph the wondrous Notre Dame Basilica. The remainder of the day is free for you to enjoy the “Joie de Vivre” of this beautiful city! Visit Mount Royal Park for amazing views of the city, and sample traditional French cuisine at a local restaurant.

Day 5: Board the CTMA MV Vacancier this afternoon for a three day cruise along the St. Lawrence River to the Iles de la Madeleine. Photograph the Old Port of Montreal and the Jacques Cartier Bridge as the ship departs the harbor. Cruise past the City of Sorel, and after sunset, sail under the old Quebec Bridge. Close to midnight, Quebec City comes into view, and the magnificent Chateau Frontenac dominates the skyline. (D)

Day 6: Travel near Tadoussac at the mouth of the Saguenay River, and glimpse the impressive hill-top windmill park enroute to Cap-Chat. The shoreline becomes rugged throughout the beautiful Gaspe Peninsula. Sail past the Chics-Chocs Mountains, Mont-St-Pierre., and the fishing harbor of Riviere-au-Renard. After navigating between Perce Rock and Bonaventure Island, the ship arrives in the port of Chandler late this evening. (B,L,D)

Day 7: Arrive into Cap-aux-Meules this morning and enjoy a day to explore the archipelago’s treasures and routes. Accommodation has been arranged at the seaside Chateau Madelinot, a short walk from the village. The Iles de la Madeleine is comprised of a dozen islands, half of which are interconnected by thin sand dunes. This island treasure is comprised of red sandstone cliffs, rocky outcrops, brilliant green valleys and white beaches. (B)

Day 8: Join a full day tour of the Eastern Islands today. Indulge in a tasting at a traditional smokehouse, enjoy panoramic views of Havre-aux-Maisons, known for its bare landscape and stunning beauty, and tour the underground caves at Dune-du-Sud Beach. Sample local Acadian fare and spot the lobster fisherman at Grande-Entrée harbor. (L)

Day 9: Depart this morning on CTMA MV Madeleine for the five-hour crossing to Souris, Prince Edward Island. You will be met at the ferry terminal and transferred to your hotel. The capital city of Canada’s smallest and greenest province boasts an energetic cultural centre, excellent galleries and a lively Celtic music scene! Stroll the waterside Charlottetown boardwalk this afternoon.

Day 10: Explore this beautiful island at your leisure. Visit Green Gables in Prince Edward Island National Park or book a guided seal watching tour. Should you wish, you may rent a vehicle and embark on the scenic North Cape Coastal Drive.
