Day 1: Arrive at Vagar on board the Atlantic Airways flight, and transfer to the 62°N hotel close to the airport.
Day 2: Today you will pick up your car, and have time to drive around the island of Vagar, and take the ferry to the neighbouring island of Mykenes, reknowned for its extraordinary birdlife and landscapes.
Day 3: This morning you will head out to Gjogv, a beautiful community on the island of Eysturoy. To get there, you will cross the "Bridge across the Atlantic", linking the island to its neighbour, Stremoy. In Gjogv, you will have two nights accommodation booked at the Gjaargardur Guesthouse.
Day 4: A full day to hike, enjoy the tranquillity of the village or simply relax!
Day 5: Today as you will drive to Torshavn,take the opportunity to head to the norther town or Klaksvik, the islands' second major centre, and beyond to the tiny community of Videreidi at the northern point of the Faroes. The distances on the islands are small, and yet the differences in scenery and seascapes that you will see are remarkable.
Arriving in the capital, Torshavn, in the late afternoon you will check intothe hotel fo ra three-night stay.
Day 6/7: Based in Torshavn, you will have time to visit the town and its many quaint streets, its harbour and the local museums, or take your car for a day trip to Sandoy, the next island to the south. There are day excursions should you wish, and in the evenings, the town boasts some fine restaurants for you to enjoy.
Day 8: Depart in the morning by ferry to the southern island of Suderoy. The sailing on board the Smyril will take approximately two hours, and followin garrival, you will head to the Hotel Oravik where you will have accommodation confirmed for two nights.
Day 9: While distances in the islands may seem small, the wild Atlantic Ocean kept their cultural distinctions strong. Spellbinding cliffs, magnificent light, ancient viking cultures and marked hikes that date back one thousand years are here to enchant the visitor. There are no shortage of fascinating sites, historical wonders and awe-inspiring scenery on Suderoy to keep you enthralled, as your Faroese experience comes to a close.
Day 10: An early start as the ferry to Torshavn departs at 0600, arriving at 0800, and allowing ample time to cross to the airport at Vagar for those travelling on the 1100 flight to Reykjavik.
And so finally, farewell to the Faroe Islands; the journey through the islands will have triggered so many images of the Viking heritage, its contemporary culture, stunning land and seascapes and the sheer determination of this small and vital island nation.
