Day 1: Arrive in the Faroe Islands and transfer from Vagar airport to Gjogv for a five-night stay in the Gjaargardur guesthouse.
Day 2-5: Four full days to enjoy this remarkable location. Located at the northern tip of the island of Eysturoy, the picturesque community of Gjogv is an ideal base for hiking. From the peak of Faroe's highest mountain, Slaettaratindur at 882 metres and accessible along its eastern ridge, to the walks across the hill to the neighbouring community of Funningur, the area offers a myriad of diversions and spectacular walks.
If you want to get further afield, the island's bus service is excellent, and with two daily services to Gjogv (except Sundays), you will have no problem travelling to another part of the islands should you wish to do so.
Your accommodation, in a superior room, will be on a bed and breakfast basis.
Day 6: Today you will transfer by yourselves on the local bus service to Torshavn, where you will have accommodation booked for two nights at the Hotel Hafnia. There are good connections in both the morning and evening, and the choice will be yours. Once in Torshavn, the hotel will be only a short walk from the bus station.
Day 7: A free day to explore the lovely town of Torshavn, take a boat excursion to the neighbouring island of Nolsoy or even an optional day excursion.
Day 8: Depart from Torshavn by the local coach service to the Vagar airport for your departing flight.
