Iceland and Greenland lie only 500 miles apart but offer travellers a fantastic opportunity to compare the completely different cultures and landscapes of these two neighbouring countries. Our programs offer the opportunity to travel to Greenland, and combine time in Reykjavik with a few days spent in the drmatic land and seascapes of the South of Greenland.
Day 1, Saturday: Arrive in Keflavik and transfer to the domestic airport for the onward flight to Greenland, arriving in Narsarssuaq by early afternoon. Transfer to your hotel where you will be met and offered a guided city walk.
Day 2, Sunday: Transfer to the pier, and then by boat to Qaqortoq where you will have two nights' accommodation. The boat journey will take you through some dramatic countryside, and you will get an idea why this land of ice was called "Green" Land.
Day 3, Monday: Time to relax or take one of the optional excursions available. The countryside is stunning and the communities enchanting. You will lose sense of the outside world for the short time that you are here, and immerse yourself in the timelessness of the Greenlandic countryside.
Day 4,Tuesday: Following breakfast, you will transfer to the airport by helicopter and then fly to Reykjavik where you will check into your central hotel for a four-night stay in the Icelandic capital.
Day 5, Wednesday: A free day to explore Reykjavik, or take an option al tour program.
Day 6,Thursday: A full day Golden Circle tour.
Day 7, Friday: A free day in Reykjavik, and time to take one of many optional day trips available. Horseback Riding? Whale Watching? A coach tour, or simply a day's car hire? The choice is yours.
Day 8, Saturday: Head to the airport in the afternoon for the flight back to North America
