Day 1: You will depart from Winnipeg at noon to commence the 1,700 kilometre journey that will take you from the modern city of Winnipeg through parks, towering borealis forest and finally to the shores of Hudson Bay.
Day 2: On board the train. Time to wander through the train and meet your fellow passengers, enjoy the views, play games or simply relax and spend time with a good book. Meals are available on board, and the journey becomes exciting as the landscapes change, the remote communities more scattered and the days longer.
Accommodation on board the train will be confirmed in coach seats, but upgrades to berths or a cabin are available upon request.
Day 3: Arrive in Churchill in the morning, and transfer to your accommodation at the cosy Bear Country Inn for a two night stay. The day will be free to enjoy the community, and perhaps take a quick trip to Cape Merry.
Day 4: Today you will head out on a half-day trip by boat onto the Churchill River. There you will see thousands of Beluga Whales, and with the hydrophone dropped into the water, listen to the noise as they call through the cold waters.
There will be time for an optional excursion, depending on the tides, to visit Prince of Wales Fort, or even head back to the river for a kayaking trip.
Day 5: Your last day in this engaging community. Churchill is a different place, living as it does on the edge of the bay; your time here, however, will have made an impression on you, and you will have time for some last minute shopping before heading to the airport for your flight back to Winnipeg where this journey ends.
Please note that this itinerary may be operated in reverse, flying north to Churchill and travelling back to the south on board the train.
