Star Attraction! Day 1: Pick-up is at 10:00am at the Burntwood Hotel for the Spirit Way Walking Tour. This unique walking tour highlights 11 remarkable points of interest, beautiful wolf statues, and the world's largest mural of a Robert Bateman painting. Interesting vista's and viewpoints highlight Thompson's cultural history and links to the natural environment. Along the way we'll stop for lunch at Thompson's own "Northern Flavours Coffee House" and the tour ends at the Heritage North Museum, a Manitoba Star Attraction. Drop off at 1:00pm at the hotel for a break . Afternoon pick
up 2:00pm at the hotel. Discover the amazing
world of wolves during a 2 hour interactive
workshop. You'll learn interesting wolf facts,
how wolves and humans co-exist, and the history
and
biology of wolf populations. You'll even get to see live wolves who
live at the Thompson Zoo. 4:00pm Drop off at
the hotel. Supper recommendations at Grapes (Burntwood
Hotel). Pickup at hotel and drive 50 minutes to Pisew Falls. A breath-taking sight year round, these are Manitoba's 2nd highest waterfalls. A short board walk leads to an observation platform overlooking the spectacular 13 metre falls. A second trail leads to the suspension bridge which spans the Grass River below the Falls. At 4:00pm drive 50 minutes back to Thompson and drop off at hotel. Supper recommendation at Riverview Restaurant (Chinese food). Shuttle service available to and from dinner. Day 3: 10:00 pick up for the Millenium Trail (walking tour). This scenic 1 1/2 hour walking trail loops around the city and winds through the Boreal Forest along the Burntwood River. Learn about the rich history of Aboriginal people, York boats, fur traders and prospectors. Experience the forest and its diverse and interesting ecosystem. 11:30 drop off at hotel. |
