| For those short of time,
we are delighted to offer this brief
itinerary, which allows you to see the
magnificent Polar Bears as they prowl
the shores of Hudson Bay. This program
entails a long day, but it holds a reward
you will never forget!
Day 1: The tour begins in Winnipeg upon check-in at the Delta Winnipeg, located in the heart of the city (arrival transfers are not included). Day 2: An early start! You will be transferred to Calm Air’s hanger facility this morning. Our chartered aircraft is scheduled to depart for Churchill at 7:00am. Breakfast is served onboard Upon your arrival in Churchill at approximately 9:45am, you will be transferred directly to the Tundra Buggy® launch site where you will board your temporary home for the day. Spend the day viewing polar bears in their natural habitat. These magnificent creatures are truly awe-inspiring as they prowl the coastline of the Hudson Bay, waiting for the sea ice to form. As our tours are set during the peak of the Polar Bear migration, the chances of finding the “King of the Arctic” are excellent! The unique tundra vehicle is well heated, and washroom equipped. A hearty lunch, prepared locally, will be served on board. The buggy's over-inflated tires allow unparalleled access onto the tundra. Our experienced naturalist guide and knowledgeable Tundra Buggy® driver will make every effort to ensure you have the most favorable conditions to photograph the bears. A platform on the rear of the buggy allows passengers an unrestricted view of the bears. We return to Churchill at dusk for dinner as well as the opportunity to shop for Inuit soapstone carvings or other local souvenirs. The flight for Winnipeg departs at 8:00pm this evening. Upon arrival you will be transferred back to the Delta Winnipeg. (B,L,D) Day 3: The tour concludes following breakfast at the hotel. (B) |
