Day 1: Arrive in Edinburgh the capital city of Scotland and your base for the next two nights. Overnight in your hotel. Day 2: Take a hop on hop off city tour of Edinburgh where you will appreciate the contrast between the 18th century Georgian "New Town" with its wide, tree lined streets and elegant squares and the medieval "Old Town". The Royal Mile is the backbone of the old quarter, running from the Palace of Holyrood House to Edinburgh Castle. Overnight in your hotel. Day 3: Today you will pick up your car and depart for the Trossachs, also known as the Gateway to the Highlands. There is something for everyone to enjoy in Scotland’s first National Park including low level walking, cycling, sailing, hill walking and for the more adventurous, canyoning. Whatever the weather, Loch Lomond and The Trossachs provides a stunning backdrop to your visit. This afternoon enjoy a Mountain Bike Trail in the park, you will be supplied with a Front Suspension, Cross Country Mountain Bike, map and recommended routes around the Loch Ard Forest, cycle at your leisure around some spectacular scenery. Stay at the Forest Hills Hotel, one of Scotland’s most spectacular and exclusive country retreats, renowned for its magnificent scenery and accommodation, and an unrivalled range of outdoor pursuits. Forest Hills Hotel stands on the shores of Loch Ard, amid 25 acres of private land where pathways wind through woodland and alongside tumbling burns. Day 4: This morning on the shores of Loch Ard you will learn how to Kayak. Similar to canoeing, kayaking is a physically demanding but very refreshing sport. Your instructor will teach you the basics before taking you on a small trip on the Loch, play some games and learn more skills. Learning at your own pace, this is a great introduction to the sport. This afternoon, take some time out to enjoy the Trossachs area, drive to Loch Lomond where you can take a cruise on the loch or to Glengoyne Distillery for a taste of Scotland’s national drink. Return to your hotel for overnight. Day 5: Today you have the opportunity to drive yourself through the spectacular scenery of the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park. Experience the excitement of riding a powerful quad bike in some of the most stunning countryside Scotland has to offer. Originally used by farmers to quickly negotiate their way over their land, Quad Biking in Scotland has never been more fun. Driving over ditches, through mud and over bumps. This is an exhilarating quad bike trek through beautiful woodlands where you will encounter many natural obstacles. This afternoon, relax in the hotel’s leisure facilities, which include a pool, steam room & sauna or if you have any energy left, a fully equipped gymnasium. Day 6: Sadly, it’s time to leave Scotland, returning to Glasgow or Edinburgh to join your flight home.
