Day 1: Ullapool Drive to Ullapool. Make a stop at the Corrieshalloch Gorge, a spectacular mile-long gorge, one of the finest examples in Britain of a box canyon, is 200 feet deep and contains the Falls of Measach which plunge 150 feet. Arriving Ullapool is a small west coast fishing village. Visit Ullapool museum, which tells about the life & times of the village. From Ullapool journey across to the East Coast (approx 1.5 hours by car). Overnight in Ullapool Day 2: Isle of Lewis and Harris The Isles of Lewis and Harris are at the Northwest corner of the group of Islands known as the Hebrides, or Western Isles. The Hebrides are known as the "long island" as they stretch for 100 miles. Take the ferry across to the Isle of Lewis this morning. Stornoway, the main
town, reveals some of the themes of an Outer Hebrides visit. Don’t miss the
pre-historic site of Callanish, the “Steinacliet Cairn & Stone Circle”, Travel
through the island of Harris, which actually is joined to the Isle of Lewis.
Harris has a wide range of landscapes, all of which have their own charm and
interest. On the west coast lie some of the most spectacular beaches of Britain
with large open machair areas. The east coast has some of the oldest rocks in
the world, being dated at some three thousand million years old. Isle of Harry
is also the home to the famous “ Harris Tweed”. The Island of Harris is an
