Day 1: Arrive in Glasgow where you will pick up a car, and overnight at a central hotel. Day 2: Drive north to Oban where you will board a ferry to Lochboisdale. Day 3: Exploring the low-lying Islands of Uist. and their miles of gorgeous beaches and dunes brimming with wildlife. Day 4: From North Uist you will take the ferry to Harris, where you will spend the next two nights. Day 5: Wonder at the extraordinary landscapes of Harris, so different from their southern neighbour. Drive the eastern shore from Rodel to Tarbert. Day 6: Continue north to Lewis. There you will spend two nights, and explore the rugged fishing villages of the western shore, Stornoway and even the remote "Butt of Lewis," the most northerly point of this northerly island. Day 7: Exploring the island of Lewis. Day 8: "Over the Sea to Skye" today! You will sail from Tarbert to Skye and check into your accommodation, confirmed for three nights. Days 9 & 10: Two full days to explore this delightful island. Enjoy its craft shops, its scenery and the Dunvegan Castle, the family seat of the MacLeods. Above all, enjoy the unique atmosphere of this island community. Day 11: Today's drive will see you heading south through the countryside of the Highlands, past Glen Coe and Loch Lomond en route to Glasgow where you will overnight. Day 12: Drop off your car this morning either in town or at the airport. |
