Located on the Snaefellsnes Peninsula, the Snaefellsjokull glacier is renowned for its mystical powers and was the starting point of Jules Verne's famous book "Journey to the Centre of the Earth". Some walking is required to explore the Arnarstapi rock formations, Hellnar and the Sjupalonssandur area before visiting the new Settlement Centre on the way back to Reykjavik.
