Why This Indoor Waterpark is a Family Favourite
A Family-Friendly Resort Built for Fun
Great Wolf Lodge is a fantastic all-in-one resort that’s 100% geared towards families. Everything you need is on-site — from accommodations and dining to entertainment and waterpark access. You could easily spend your whole trip right at the resort!
I visited the Bloomington, MN location, but there are 17 other locations across the U.S. and one in Canada. The Bloomington resort is just 5 minutes from the Mall of America, making it super convenient for travel.
Room Options, Amenities, and What’s Included
The resort offers themed suites for families of all sizes — from standard rooms to kid-friendly suites with bunk beds.
Perks included:

- Unlimited resort-wide WiFi
- Access to onsite restaurants (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
- Forest Friends-themed lobby show
- Time with characters and storytime
Upon check-in, you’ll receive a printed itinerary with daily activities — super helpful for families!
Splash, Slide & Relax in the Water Park
The indoor water park is a big draw. It features:
- Wave pools
- Lazy rivers
- Splash pads
- Water slides
The lifeguards take their job seriously and are constantly on patrol. The water is kept at a cozy 84°F, but the rest of the resort isn’t, so I recommend bringing a towel or cover-up from your room. (Towels are available but must remain inside the water park.)
Endless Activities Beyond the Pool
There’s also tons to do out of the water. Activities include:
- A large arcade
- Small bowling alley
- Rustic climbing wall
- Creation Station (Build-A-Bear style fun with Great Wolf Lodge characters)
- MagiQuest (interactive magic wand game)
The kids loved it — and to be honest, so did the adults.
Add a Paw Pass to Save on Extras
When you book your stay, you’ll have the option to add a Paw Pass. I highly recommend pre-purchasing this — it bundles together things like:
- MagiQuest game and wand
- Arcade credits
- Souvenir items
It’s a great way to save if your kids want to do all the things (and they will).
